ONE

Unique photogram; cyanotype emulsion, cotton paper  60cm H x 50cm W

Botanist Anna Atkins first brought fame to the technique of cyanotypes creating dozens pressed botanic samples to produce the world's first photographic book in 1843. As a collection ONE explores the juncture between material semiotics and natural phenomena. In considering the question of relationship, the intention is to fuse the pure alchemy of light and traces of matter caught in the act of becoming. There is something to be said for contemplating the space between forms and in the act doing so, find comfort within the constancy of change. Estimated Completion: June 2019
